At the TAF Connect conference in Mumbai on 16 March, Jatin Talwar of Fasiculus presented an integrated anti-counterfeiting and consumer engagement solution built around a single, enhanced QR code system.
Talwar explained that the solution combines authentication, track-and-trace and consumer interaction through a single scan. At the core of the system is the proprietary “F-code,” a hidden security layer embedded within the QR code, designed to make it non-clonable.
He said the technology addresses a major limitation of conventional QR codes, which are easily duplicated. The embedded F-code strengthens the QR structure, making it extremely difficult for counterfeiters to replicate. Users can scan the code using any smartphone without requiring a dedicated app, and are redirected to a brand microsite where product authenticity is verified instantly.
The platform enables end-to-end visibility across the supply chain through a lightweight application that integrates with brand systems. Each product is tracked through a parent-child SKU relationship, allowing companies to monitor movement, distribution and usage history in real time.
Talwar highlighted geotagging and geofencing as critical features. These allow brands to verify whether shipments are reaching intended destinations and identify regions where counterfeit activity is concentrated. Such insights enable targeted enforcement actions at distributor or retailer levels, improving on-ground control.
Beyond security, the system supports consumer engagement initiatives, including loyalty programs. Talwar cited applications in the paint and lubricant sectors, where painters and mechanics are rewarded for recommending specific products.
Fasiculus has deployed the technology across multiple sectors, including alco-beverages, e-commerce and automotive. Talwar said the company has implemented over 200 million coded labels in the wine industry across Asia and more than 120 million applications in the paint sector without failure.
The solution is designed to be modular and customized, with features such as microtext, tamper-evident elements and variable data printing. In addition, Fasiculus offers a security software suite that allows brands to independently manage authentication systems, reducing long-term dependency on external vendors.
Talwar added that the company, part of the Vinsak Group, also supports hardware integration, enabling brands to deploy secure printing and coding systems without significant capital investment.
