Kelva, a division of the Chromos Group, has more than 40 years of experience in industrial dust removal in reel-to-reel and sheet-fed production processes. The company is a known name in web cleaning technology with more than 7,000 installations worldwide.
Kelva, which has specific systems for corrugated board, tissue, non-woven, film, glass, glass fiber, and printing, promoted its customizable web cleaning and dust-removal systems at PaperEx 2023.
The company provides contact-type and non-contact-type web cleaning for multiple industries such as paper manufacturing, paper converting, paper boards, film and flexible packaging, and non-woven and glass industries, Dhwanil Mehta, area sales manager, Kelva, said. “Wherever dust is a problem for the process and its end-products, Kelva offers solutions to remove dust from materials and give clean webs to the customers for the next critical process,” he said.
Though the Switzerland-headquartered company doesn’t have an office or manufacturing set-up in India yet, Mehta is taking care of sales, marketing and technical support for all Asian markets from his home office in Ahmedabad. He regularly travels to meet customers in the Middle East, Central Asia and South East Asia.
The clientele is quite big for Kelva, Mehta said, adding the company has business relations with Stora Enso, Voith, Nilpeter, Polyplex, Baxter, and Menasha Packaging
“The packaging industry in India is growing day by day. It has a bright future. The quality standards are changing as customers and end users are asking for better quality and more attractive packaging. This, in turn, leads to high packaging requirements and packaging aspirations,” he said.
Clean and hygienic packaging is the need of the hour as packed products need to be well-printed and well-coated or laminated. To achieve these quality standards, the input material or the basic substrate has to be dust-free, Mehta shared, adding the industry is working hard to achieve these goals by investing in high-end equipment.
“Kelva, with its web cleaning systems and customizable solutions, has a good presence in the Indian industry. We are here to support the industry technically as well as from all other angles. We would like to associate with more industry and business partners to help them out with their daily operational problems and provide clean products,” Mehta concluded.
