Bringing consumables, spare parts, and post-press technologies under one roof, Delhi-headquartered Reprographic System and Supplies (RGSS) has opened an industry-first experience center at Kriti Nagar. It is designed with an aim to transform how printers and packaging converters discover, evaluate, and adopt solutions as per their dire needs and sheer requirements.
For decades, RGSS has been a familiar name in India’s printing and packaging industry, quietly powering operations with an extensive portfolio of consumables, spare parts and machinery. Yet, despite serving thousands of customers and representing more than 10 global principals, one challenge persisted: customers often knew only a fraction of what the company had to offer. That gap inspired the launch of the new experience centre, a first-of-its-kind facility to provide customers the hands-on understanding of the company’s diverse product portfolio.
“We were selling consumables, spare parts, and machinery, but we didn’t have a designated space for that,” says Sumit Khindria, director, Reprographic System and Supplies (RGSS). “Many customers visiting our premises were not able to see the complete range of products we dealt with. Later, when they met us at exhibitions, they would often ask, ‘You have this as well? Why didn’t you tell us earlier?’ This experience centre was conceived as a response to those conversations.”
Unlike traditional sales offices or warehouse-based demonstrations, RGSS’ new experience centre offers an open environment where customers can explore products at their own pace, interact with experts and witness live machine demonstrations before making purchase decisions. “Everybody typically showcases machinery in a warehouse setting and then asks customers to buy it,” explains Khindria. “We wanted to create an open showroom where people can come, experience the products, take trials, see proper demonstrations, and decide what works best for them.”
Within two months of its opening, the center has welcomed nearly 100 visitors and already contributed to multiple business closures across spare parts, box-making equipment, and rigid box technologies. Spread across multiple segments, the center reflects the breadth of RGSS’ evolving portfolio encompassing consumables including blankets and underpacking materials, spare parts for leading brands like Heidelberg, Komori, Ryobi, and KBA, and more.
According to Khindria, RGSS has expanded into the arena of rigid box making, started in the post-pandemic. “This has emerged as a key growth area for us. We started with compact machines for customers handling lower production volumes, from a single box to around 1,000 boxes a day. Now, we are set to introduce systems for higher capacities, such as fully-automatic rigid box making machines, which our customers these days demand increasingly.”
RGSS has been in the industry for over 40 years. Today, the company manages more than 10,000 stock keeping units (SKUs), a scale that makes physical interaction increasingly valuable. “Everything cannot be discussed across a table, and everything cannot be displayed in a catalog,” mentions Khindria. “When customers visit the center, they discover products which they didn’t know we keep and identify solutions relevant to their business.”
The center also addresses the critical post-press requirements. “Machines we display at the center are largely for post-press solutions primarily for printers who often face challenges in handling finishing jobs which they eventually outsource. Here, they can see the machines in action, understand the capabilities and determine whether they can take those processes in-house.”
For Khindria, the experience center is more than a product display—it is a reflection of their customer-led approach to portfolio development. At a time when digital platforms dominate business communication, RGSS believes physical experiences remain irreplaceable, particularly in the printing and packaging sector.
