Nature Multipack, the winner of German Packaging Award 2014 in the Sales Packaging category

The starter’s flag for the German Packaging Award in 2015 has fallen. Until the end of June, companies, organizations and individuals from home and abroad can submit their innovations, ideas and products on packaging of all kinds. The host of the competition under the auspices of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is the German Packaging Institute (dvi) in Berlin.

“Designed as a performance showcase, the German Packaging Award has been generating a fair and exciting competition of ideas and solutions since 1963. Over the years, it has developed into the most prestigious European award in the packaging arena,” says Burkhard Lingenberg, dvi Board member and chairman of the Advisory Board of the German Packaging Award.

“Over 5,000 companies are working in the packaging industry in Germany alone. With their productivity and their ability to hold their ground in today’s dynamic markets, the over 400,000-strong packaging industry workforce secures around 2% of the German GNP. This is only possible due to constant innovation and creative research in finding the best solutions for consumers, markets and the environment,” says Lingenberg. “With a nomination or award for the German Packaging Award, these companies can distinguish themselves sustainably towards customers and competitors, employees and professionals, as well as the general public.”

The German Packaging Award is awarded in the five categories of sales packaging; labels, seals and other packaging aids; display and promotional packaging; transport and logistics packaging and packaging machines, engineering and technology. In addition, the competition offers a stage for young talent in training and education. The award ceremony will take place at the end of September at the start of the trade fair FachPack in Nuremberg.
