Parakh Flexipacks, the packaging arm of the Pune-based Parakh Group, deepened its longstanding partnership with Bobst by commissioning its fourth printing press — the Vision CI Flexo more than 18 months ago. The installation marked another Bobst press including several CI flexo and rotogravure presses at the plant just outside of Pune. Parakh also continues to run its several older W&H CI flexo presses and its multiple W&H blown film lines. The plant was expanded and modernized about two years ago and still runs a significant Siegwerk ink blending unit as well.
Founded in 2003, Parakh Flexipacks is a key player in the Indian packaging sector. As part of the Rs 4,000-crore Parakh Group, a mid-sized Fortune 500 enterprise, the company delivers durable, sustainable, and customized flexible packaging solutions. Its advanced manufacturing facility integrates both flexographic and rotogravure technologies, catering to a diverse and growing indigenous and global clientele across FMCG, dairy, beverages, snacks and confectionaries, hygiene, and apparel segments, among others.
A recent press release from Bobst talks about Parakh Flexipacks’ adhering to the highest international standards, especially in the hygiene industry. Parakh Flexipacks is also a significant exporter of printed packaging films. The company’s commitment to quality and innovation is underpinned by strong technology partnerships — with several leading global manufacturers such as Bobst, W&H, and Siegwerk at the core of this print journey.
Reflecting on its use of Bobst smartGPS technology on the Bobst Vision CI flexo press, Harshal Parakh, executive director of Parakh Flexipacks said, “Bobst smartGPS has significantly reduced our reliance on highly skilled operators for precision registration while minimizing setup times and substrate waste. By enhancing consistency and reducing human error, it enables us to scale high-quality production and meet evolving market demands. Our partnership with Bobst continues to deliver tangible returns.”
Highlighting the performance of the Vision CI flexo press, Vinay Nalawade, CEO of Parakh Flexipacks says, “The Vision CI Flexo attributes cutting-edge innovations that have set a new benchmark in flexographic printing. Since its installation, it has consistently delivered exceptional performance, significantly enhancing our productivity to meet rising market demand. Its robust engineering — including a cast iron frame, carbon fiber shafts, and precise drive controls — minimizes vibrations for high-speed, high-precision output. Key automation features such as automatic plate cylinder bearing systems and slide guides for bearing caps further reduce manual intervention and ensure consistent print quality.”
They both reiterate that the unwavering support from Bobst India’s service team has been instrumental in keeping downtimes minimal and operations highly efficient. “Today, we confidently call the Vision CI Flexo press our most productive press — a testament to the success of our ongoing collaboration with Bobst.”
Amongst its operational features the Vision CI enables easy cleaning of the CI drum and access to the rubber nip roller. Semi-floatation drying with both sides blowing ensures high efficiency. Specially designed intermediate color dryers maximize efficiency in limited space.
Other features include face-to-face winders for improved roll management, reduced operator movement, smaller footprint, and less waste; and lightweight two-part chamber for easy removal and 3-point pneumatic piston pressure for uniform pressure across width.
