The European project CLIPP+, which is a continuation of CLIPP (FP7-SME2010-1-261977), will receive funding under the Horizon 2020 EU programme. Coordinated by Skymark, one of UK’s leading independent manufacturers and suppliers of high-quality embossed, plain and printed flexible films, CLIPP+ will introduce into the market cost-competitive, environment-friendly recycled polyolefin films to be reused in non-food film packaging through an innovative technology based on a previous EU project, CLIPP. The original project demonstrated the effectiveness of sc-CO2 technology to remove contaminants and unpleasant smells associated with this type of printed, recycled plastic material.
The project started in July this year following a meeting at Aimplas in Valencia, Spain. Aimplas is a non-profit research association that operates as a technological partner for enterprises from the plastics industry and offers the mintegral and customized solutions
by coordinating research, development and innovation projects, and services. It has a broad expertise in the fields of extrusion technology, polymers, nanocomposites, biopolymers and renewable source materials, and biotechnological processes. The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme as an SME instrument under the Grant Agreement n° 673663.
