The IndiaCorr Expo and India Folding Carton 2021, one of the first live exhibition events of the print and packaging industry since the pandemic, is currently on at Hall 14 of the modern India Expo Center, in Greater Noida. The co-located exhibitions from 23 to 25 October, are showcasing corrugated paper manufacturers, corrugators, and folding carton equipment and tech manufacturers, as well leading prepress suppliers and converters from across the country.

The response on the first day of the event which is on till Monday evening was simply splendid. Well-versed corrugated carton manufacturers, paper pulp converters, machinery producers, and other visitors visited the much-awaited event organized by Reed Exhibitions. This is the first time that the Indian corrugation industry has come together after a hiatus of around two years due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Strict Covid-19 precautions observed

Reed Exhibitions has made sure visitors and exhibitors are following the necessary Covid-19 precautions at the event. As one enters Hall 14 of the India Expo Center, there are two persons posted at the gate to measure the body temperature of the visitors. There is a registration counter where unregistered visitors can get their entry passes and at kiosks right beside the registration counter, registered users can print out their passes. Helpful staff is posted near these nodes to sanitize the hands of the people entering the fair premises.

The exhibition also has a specially dedicated Medical Aid kiosk with a well-qualified doctor to address any emergency medical needs of the visitors and exhibitors. The exhibitors have made sure that the event premises are sparkling clean at all times. The floor carpets are being vacuum cleaned at regular intervals and cleaners are making regular rounds to make sure there are no discarded bottles, cups, papers, or any other form of litter anywhere.

In addition, Reed Exhibitions has distributed Ferrero Rocher chocolates at all the exhibitor stalls as a sweet surprise for the participating members.

Displays galore

Several hot and cold glue manufacturers such as Valco Melton and Baumer are present at the event. Some paper manufacturing firms such as Bhagwati papers, and Unisource Papers are displaying their wares at IndiaCorr Expo. Machinery manufacturers like Robus India, Acme RollTech, BHS Corrugated India, Boix Machinery, and Erhardt + Leimer India are showcasing some of their hi-tech machines at the 2021 edition of IndiaCorr expo.

Exhibitors enthusiasm

The exhibitors are extremely enthusiastic about getting together after the Covid-19 crisis and looking to make good business connections at the event. Many have frugally made it through the tough times and are looking forward to a rise in machine orders after the fair. We spoke with the team of Velco Melton Engineering India and Veepee Graphic Solutions who were glad to showcase their products looking forward to the end of the virulence of the pandemic and for a positive response from their presence.

On day one, the expo has received an unexpected response in the number of visitors with local visitors as well as people who have specially flown in from cities as far away as Coimbatore, Ahmedabad and Singapore.

The impact, resilience, and growth of responsible packaging in a wide region are daily chronicled by Packaging South Asia.

A multi-channel B2B publication and digital platform such as Packaging South Asia is always aware of the prospect of new beginnings and renewal. Its 16-year-old print monthly, based in New Delhi, India has demonstrated its commitment to progress and growth. The Indian and Asian packaging industries have shown resilience in the face of ongoing challenges over the past three years.

As we present our publishing plan for 2023, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2023 will reach 6.3%. Packaging industry growth has exceeded GDP growth even when allowing for inflation in the past three years.

The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India increased by 33% over the past three years. With orders in place, we expect another 33% capacity addition from 2023 to 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels have grown similarly. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.

Even given the disruptions of supply chains, raw material prices, and the challenge of responsible and sustainable packaging, packaging in all its creative forms and purposes has significant headroom to grow in India and Asia. Our context and coverage engulf the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and further – to waste collection and recycling. We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, and recyclers.

In an admittedly fragmented and textured terrain, this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing support communication – in our impactful and highly targeted business platform.
