hubergroup Print Solutions, a leader in specialty chemicals and print solutions, took part in the IndiaCorr Expo in Greater Noida  from 11 to 13 September 2025, to interact with converters and help streamline production. A highlight of the company’s showcase was the Hydro-i sustainable water-based ink portfolio for corrugated packaging launched at IndiaCorr Expo 2022.

Since its introduction in 2022, the water-based portfolio has earned recognition as a global benchmark in sustainable printing, delivering high-performance results with an environmental footprint.

At IndiaCorr Expo 2025, the hubergroup team was excited to return to the place where the product’s journey began to share its experience and celebrate partnerships. For the company, the show served as a well-planned marketing platform to meet its targeted audience.

Developed through rigorous market analysis, close customer collaboration, and advanced R&D, Hydro-i allows converters to align production processes with evolving regulatory requirements and customer expectations. According to Pratip Dey, business head at hubergroup India, Hydro-i is more than just an ink series – it is a holistic system.

Developed to meet the complex demands of corrugated box production, it includes tailored ink systems for post- and pre-print applications and is compatible with both coated and uncoated substrates. With low VOC content and high mileage, Hydro-i helps converters significantly reduce environmental impact while maintaining vibrant print quality,” he said.

The series is produced locally at hubergroup’s manufacturing site at Silvassa near Mumbai – a facility equipped with automated production, extensive quality control processes, and SAP-based traceability.

Hydro-i stands out not only for performance and sustainability, but also for its reliable supply and technical service, making it an increasingly attractive solution across the Indian subcontinent and beyond. The packaging industry demands both environmental compliance and uncompromising quality. Hydro-i delivers on all fronts,” Dey said.

Speaking on the market, Dey highlighted the shift from solvent-based and oil-based inks to water-based inks. He explained that speed constraints that hindered converters from opting for water-based solutions had been solved. The challenge to meet modern machine requirements with high-speed production and high-quality output got special attention during the company’s rigorous R&D.

Dey discussed the new and innovative Hydro-X DFC (direct food contact) inks and coating system that the company recently launched in Europe. It is a modular system of concentrates, extenders, coatings, additives, specialties, and services covering the better part of water-based ink applications. He said that while the Hydro-X DFC is not yet available in India, the company can start producing it in India if there is demand.
