For Interpack 2026, Becker GmbH has announced a showcase focused on the critical role of vacuum technology in modern production lines. Positioning vacuum supply as a cornerstone of operational stability rather than a secondary utility, the 140-year-old German manufacturer intends to demonstrate how integrated vacuum solutions can address the industry’s most pressing challenges — rising energy costs, high cycle rates, and the demand for long-term process reliability.
A primary highlight of Becker’s exhibition is the U 5.40 rotary vane vacuum pump, a compact solution engineered specifically for modern packaging machinery. The unit is designed to outperform traditional pumps of its size by offering up to a 40% faster evacuation time compared to standard 21 m³/h models.
By prioritizing speed and a low-noise design, the U 5.40 aims to assist Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and operators in increasing throughput while maintaining a conducive working environment for plant personnel.
For facilities prioritizing low maintenance and energy efficiency, Becker is highlighting its BCV series. Utilizing a non-contact operating principle, these claw vacuum pumps are built for continuous operation with minimal wear and tear. The series features a robust design and innovative maintenance aids, such as a transparent filter cover that allows for immediate visual inspections.Â
This design philosophy focuses on extending service intervals and reducing the total cost of ownership, making it a key offering for companies looking to future-proof their operations against fluctuating maintenance expenses.
Beyond individual components, Becker is aiming for a shift toward centralized vacuum systems as the next level of production efficiency. This systemic approach involves moving vacuum pumps out of the immediate production area, which serves to remove heat, noise, and oil mist from the factory floor.Â
According to the company, these centralized installations not only improve hygiene and working conditions but also enhance operational security through the use of reserve pumps that ensure zero downtime if a single unit requires servicing.
Throughout the event, Becker, will be available to discuss real-world applications in thermoforming, tray sealing, and secondary packaging. By focusing on the stable interaction of entire production lines rather than isolated hardware, Becker aims to solidify its role as a partner for operators and planners who view vacuum technology as an essential driver of efficiency and sustainable growth in the packaging sector.
