Multitec, an Indian flexo technology manufacturer, signed multiple deals at Loupe India 2026, held from 29 October to 1 November in Greater Noida. The company showcased a wide array of technologies, including live demonstrations of its S2 and S3S platforms and flexible packaging applications.

Amit Ahuja, director of the Faridabad-based company, highlighted strong business interest at the show, noting Multitec had already finalized seven deals. He expressed confidence that the exhibition would bring in double-digit deals.

According to the company, Sebastiaan Reynders signed an order for Reynders India for an S3S 450 10-color press; Marks Emballage from Baddi booked two 10-color S2 presses; and Ahmedabad-based Yashvi Printpack ordered an S3S 450 10-color press. Multivision booked a Show S1C machine. Two S3S machines of 670 mm web-width were booked by a multi-location printer, although the name has been withheld on request.

“Visitors and clients focused their discussions primarily on technology offerings, new product showcases, press stability, and connected features. The steady footfall kept our personnel occupied at our stand throughout the event, leaving little time to tour other exhibition areas,” he said.

Beyond trade show discussions, Ahuja outlined ongoing manufacturing expansions. The company aims to up its overall production capacity by around 25% by the end of the current financial year, followed by an additional increase of 25% to 30% in the next financial year. Additional growth initiatives are currently in development.

Reflecting on the event, he said, “The conversation around press productivity is changing. For years, the emphasis was on how fast a press could run. Today, the more important question is how much profitable, saleable output it can deliver over an entire shift. Whether in labels or flexible packaging, converters are handling more SKUs, shorter runs, frequent job changes, and diverse applications. Under these conditions, running speed tells only part of the story. Changeover time, make-ready waste, tooling costs, and the number of processes required to complete a job all have a direct bearing on profitability.”

The company has built machines with multiple rail-mounted accessories, parking systems, reversible print units, multiple foiling units and foilsavers, lamination and other specialized capabilities. “There is no longer one ideal press configuration. The right press is the one that makes the converter’s particular mix of jobs most profitable,” he emphasized.

“The same thinking is driving developments in mid-web inline flexo. With sleeve technology, extensive servo automation and faster changeovers, shorter flexible packaging runs can be produced economically and profitably, opening up opportunities that were traditionally difficult to address with conventional production methods,” Ahuja explains.

Multitec sees the next stage of press development extending beyond mechanical automation, with better use of stored job parameters and production information to improve repeatability and reduce the effort involved in bringing a job back on press.
