Markem-Imaje, a global leader in end-to-end supply chain solutions and industrial marking and coding systems, showcased its technological advancements at Packvision Expo 2024. The company introduced its new 9750 expert series continuous inkjet (CIJ) coders, alongside fiber laser marking machines and thermal transfer overprinters, including the SmartDate X45 and SmartDate X30.

The 9750 expert series CIJ coders are designed to deliver even under challenging conditions such as high humidity and dusty environments. These coders are particularly suited for ultra-fast production lines. In the series, the 9750 Expert HD+ stands out for its ability to produce high-quality, vision camera-readable GS1 digital links and QR codes as small as 5mm high, meeting ISO 29158 standards. This capability is crucial for industries requiring stringent traceability and authentication standards.

Praveen Kadam, the branch manager of Markem-Imaje, highlighted the versatility of the 9750 series, “With this technology, printing three lines of text on tiny surfaces such as phone batteries, RAM chips, and other electronic components, as well as on small items like aspirin tubes, is now more achievable than ever”. The coders can handle line speeds of up to 120,000 units per hour and perform well in high humidity and dusty environments. “It provides users with the flexibility to print alphanumeric text, 2D codes, QR codes, and logos,” Kadam added.

Markem-Imaje also introduced their latest fiber laser-marking machines, which are optimized for printing on bare metals and hot plastics. This technology offers high-speed printing across large coding areas and can withstand tough industrial environments. The machines feature multi-head scribing capabilities and produce high-contrast codes. Kadam said, “I’m sure the auto ancillary and auto manufacturing companies are going to love this as we pack this printing solution along with the software solution for a better user experience.”

The Packvision Expo 2024 proved to be a successful event for Markem-Imaje, attracting significant interest from potential customers. The team received numerous inquiries and anticipates closing several deals following the exhibition. Reflecting on the positive reception and engagement from attendees, Kadam said, “The quality and quantity of visitors at the exhibition seem to be going hand in hand.”
