The 19th edition of PackPlus 2025 that took place in July at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, showcased the entire value chain of packaging— raw materials and conversions to filling systems and final packaging solutions — bringing together leading voices from the sector under one roof.
The opening day featured panel discussions addressing key industry challenges and opportunities. The session on ‘Legibility and Transparency’ brought attention to evolving regulatory standards in packaging and printing, underscoring the importance of consumer-friendly design and compliance.
The ‘Future Ready – Innovating for the Next Decade of Packaging’ session delved into innovations that will define the next decade of packaging, from smart designs to material advancements. It explored how the sector is preparing for a new era through eco-conscious practices and interactive packaging concepts. Sustainability took center stage during the panel ‘An Eco-Friendly Unboxing Experience’ where experts addressed the pursuit of 100% recyclability and its real-world challenges.
Industry leaders and experts such as Nayandeep Banerjee (Pernod Ricard India), Swati Gupta (Amway), Kirtiraj K Gaikwad (IIT Roorkee), Rajat Wahi (CPG & Retail), Tanweer Alam, director, Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Suresh Goel, CEO, Bikanervala Foods and Shailendra Singh (Sustain Mantra) brought deep insights and actionable perspectives to the forum. Their expertise added depth to the conversations on future-readiness, sustainability, and consumer-centric design.

For the exhibitors, the first half of the event was slower compared to the latter, which was attended by several small-scale entrants and supply chain experts. With solutions in raw materials, adhesives, tapes, caps and closures, coding and marking, packaging testing equipment, inks and printing technologies, the array was as wide as the previous edition. Anti-counterfeiting solution providers formed a big chunk at the packaging show.
Bericap, a German closure solutions company that has been in the Indian market for almost two decades in the beverages, lubricants, cooking oils, and alcoholic beverages segments, hopes to expand its footprint in India. The company has participated in several PackPlus shows across the country as a branding exercise for a better penetration into India’s cost-conscious market.
Dheeraj Vazirani, sales director-beverages, Bericap, said the market is moving toward personalized premium packaging. “The demands for limited edition SKUs have been growing with solutions that are both tamper-free and easy to use.”
Eisuke Morishita, senior manager, Epson India, who attended PackPlus India for the first time, was excited to be a part of the show. He said that with several brand owners present at the show, the company received a decent footfall.
Epson India highlighted the advanced SurePress L-6534VW digital inkjet label press with printed samples on a variety of substrates, including metallic and Japanese paper. The press, he explained, offers CMYK + orange and white with digital varnish capabilities that yield high-value output.

“We are witnessing a surge in capacity expansion in India, hinting that growth is not just a possibility but a reality. There are unlimited opportunities, and customers are aware of the technology they want. We have received good feedback from customers. With so many packaging-focused events in India, the knowledge sharing is getting stronger every day,” Morishita said.
Hekel Adhesive India showcased solutions for several industries, including pharma, eCommerce, tapes and labels, and more. Suprit Chawla, regional marketing communications manager, IMEA Henkel, said they participated in PackPlus to highlight that, despite being a small part of the packaging equation, adhesives have a huge impact on future-proof packaging.
With a theme of ‘Small part, big change,’ the company launched Loctite Liofol HS 4135 — a water-based synthetic heat seal coating designed for both food and non-food applications, especially for sachets and micro packs.
Chawla said, “We brought along some of our latest adhesive and coating innovations from functional, heat seal, cold seal, and barrier coatings to our growing line of solvent-free adhesives that give converters and brand owners a real alternative to traditional systems without sacrificing speed or performance. We want packaging manufacturers to move from solvent-based to solvent-free solutions.”
