Heidelberg India participated in the 15th edition of Print Pack India, jointly with Gallus, IST Metz and Polar held between 26 – 30 May 2022 at India Expo Mart Centre at Greater Noida near New Delhi. One of India’s premier exhibitions for the printing and packaging industry was organized by the Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA).

The exhibition had opened its doors after the two years of the Covid-19 pandemic story, and the opportunity was well utilized by the graphic arts industry experts and Heidelberg India. As per the organizing team, the exhibition had 1,00,000 plus footfalls over the five-days, as the market is revamping for new business.

This year, Heidelberg India participated under the theme, ‘Unfold Your Potential’ showcasing the Prinect live demo solutions center, and information center for lifecycle solutions. An exclusive offer on the Saphira range of consumables and discounts for spare parts on Heidelberg, Polar, MK Masterwork, and Gallus equipment. The Heidelberg stand had dedicated information areas for Gallus and IST Metz, which product experts managed throughout the show.

While the show was enthralled with commercial, packaging, and label printers, the Heidelberg India stand witnessed potential printers from all segments. The commercial and packaging business seems to be a growing trend, and the publishing industry is returning to India. Heidelberg presented live demonstrations of Prinect to more than 40 printers during the show.

Samir Patkar, president at Heidelberg India, said, “Prinect workflow is one of the decisive workflows for the print and packaging companies which gives comprehensive benefits at pre-press and press. Also, we presented our Heidelberg solutions to the print owners with focus on how to reduce the yellow bar, how to increase the OEE (Overall equipment efficiency) with our latest nex-gen Heidelberg presses. Our product experts discussed the benefits of AI (Artificial Intelligence) factor and digitization of processes, which are collaborated with the Heidelberg presses and enabling an ecosystem to provide high productivity and ROI (Return on Investment).

As Printpack special, Heidelberg India signed three press deals – the first is with Kumar Printers, a Speedmaster CX 104 seven color plus coater with IST UV and Prinect Image Control 4 system. The fully loaded Speedmaster CX 104 press is the first configuration in Northern India, which will be installed at Manesar, Haryana. The second is a Speedmaster CX 92 four-color press with Samrat Offset, based in New Delhi. And the third deal is a Speedmaster CX 104 seven color press with coating unit for Sukee Print Pack LLP, Bengaluru in South India. Also, a few more CX 104 installations are lined-up in other regions.

Sandeep Bhargava, managing director of Kumar Printers, said, “The Speedmaster CX 104 emphasizes increasing the efficiency with all latest features like intelliline, intelliguide and intellirun. The changeover process has been simplified, and change over time has been reduced drastically to 75%. With this investment, Kumar is securing some of the efficiency challenges every packaging converter goes through.”

Regarding the new investment Speedmaster CX 92, Abhishek Singh of Samrat Offset commented, “We are into a commercial, book, wide-format printing, and packaging jobs. The size format and the technical features are good on the CX 92. Hence, we will be able to increase our productivity multi-fold.”
