N Ranga Rao & Sons (NRR & Sons) Mysore, manufacturer of the Cycle Pure Agarbatti brand, has invested in a fully integrated packaging production workflow from Heidelberg, bringing prepress, printing and finishing operations under one roof in a bid to strengthen quality control, improve efficiency and support future growth.Â
The installation comprises a brand new Suprasetter A 106 CtP system, a remarketed Speedmaster XL 75-5+L+F Anicolor press, and a brand new Easymatrix 106 CS die cutter from MK Masterwork, creating a seamless workflow from plate production to finished packaging.Â
The investment will enable NRR & Sons to strengthen its packaging capabilities for both domestic and export markets, while ensuring greater consistency, faster turnaround times and enhanced responsiveness to growing market requirements.
Arjun Ranga of NRR & Sons said, “For a brand like ours, packaging is an extension of the trust consumers place in our products. As our business continues to grow, we wanted greater control over quality, productivity and consistency. This integrated workflow gives us the capability to manage critical production processes in-house while providing the flexibility to support future requirements.”Â
Complete control from prepress to finishing
The Suprasetter A 106 forms the foundation of the new workflow, enabling NRR & Sons to bring plate production in-house and achieve greater consistency across packaging applications. Selected for its automation, performance and scalability, the CtP system provides a reliable platform for high-quality plate production while offering the flexibility to accommodate future expansion into larger-format applications.
By producing plates internally, NRR & Sons has reduced dependence on external suppliers and gained tighter control over quality, scheduling and repeatability.
“Future readiness was a key consideration for us,” Ranga said. The ability to scale our operations without disrupting existing workflows made the Suprasetter an important part of this investment.”
Speedmaster Anicolor Â
At the heart of the production process is the Speedmaster XL 75-5+L+F Anicolor, chosen to support NRR & Sons’ high-mix packaging environment, where multiple SKUs and frequent job changes demand rapid makereadies and consistent colour quality.
The company currently produces approximately 800,000 sheets and nearly 900 makereadies per month, making operational efficiency a critical requirement.
Anicolor technology enables extremely fast job changeovers, low waste levels and highly repeatable color performance, helping the company improve productivity while maintaining the high standards expected from its packaging.
“Repeatability is critical in our operation,” Ranga said. “The Anicolor platform allows us to achieve consistent results across a wide variety of jobs while helping us optimize both time and material consumption.”
The Speedmaster XL 75 press ensures accurate reproduction of special brand colours, ensuring packaging consistency across product lines and market segments.
Finishing with Easymatrix 106 CS
Completing the workflow is the Easymatrix 106 CS from MK Masterwork, which delivers precision die-cutting and dependable performance across a diverse range of packaging applications. The integration of finishing with prepress and printing enables NRR & Sons to maintain greater control over quality throughout the production process while improving scheduling efficiency and material utilization.
“Finishing plays a vital role in the overall perception of packaging quality,” said Ranga. “Having this capability integrated into our workflow allows us to maintain consistency all the way from design to the final product.”
By integrating prepress, printing and finishing within a single production environment, NRR & Sons is well positioned to manage increasing SKU complexity, shorter production cycles and evolving packaging requirements across both domestic and international markets.
The combination of automation, productivity and scalability provides a strong platform for future growth while enabling the company to maintain the quality standards associated with the Cycle Pure brand.
“This investment is about building a future-ready packaging operation,” concluded Ranga “We now have a workflow that can adapt, scale and deliver consistently as market requirements continue to evolve.”
Samir Patkar, president, Heidelberg India, said,”NRR & Sons has made a strategic investment in a future-ready packaging workflow. The integration of prepress, press and postpress technologies will enable greater control, repeatability and efficiency while providing the scalability needed to support future business growth. We are proud to partner with NRR & Sons in this important milestone.”
