With over 70 years of experience in the packaging industry, Lenze India provides end-to-end automation and drive solutions to machine builders. Gopal Patil, sales manager of Lenze India, gave us some useful insights into the products and services that Lenze provides.
He says, “Lenze has been working for the consumer goods industry since the past five years. We provide the entire development process of the control system all the way to the drive shaft. We take a holistic view of the individual motion and control functions and draw consistent end-to-end drive and automation solutions for our clients. We have experts who are highly skilled in exploring the machine concepts and are capable of understanding even the finest of details.”
During the recently concluded four-day Automation India Expo in Mumbai, Lenze showcased i500—the new inverter series for food process and packaging. The unique aspect of the i500 WLAN module is wireless diagnostics and adjustment of inverter parameters through a smartphone app. This allows engineers to reduce the commissioning time and to make the process more simple and efficient. Also, the i500 parameters can be accessed from a PC through a USB or a field bus. In addition, there is a live monitor panel that offers selective display of speed, voltage, current and switch settings.
According to Patil, the drive does not contain a fan and uses a heat sink for heat dissipation; it is the most compact drive having 45 KW of power. This kind of drive best suited for the food packaging and textile industries, which together contribute over 45% to Lenze’s business. Overall, this provides a reliable and future-ready drive for a wide variety of applications in pumps and fans, conveyors, travelling winding former, tools and hoist drives. The Lenze i500 inverters reduce the time needed for mounting, cabling and programming. For more complex machinery such as in packaging and food processing plants, easy communication option ensures saving of precious time.
