Bengaluru-based rigid packaging solution provider, Manjushree Technopack, is extremely bullish about the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) segments in the overall plastic container packaging segment. “These (HDPE and PP) have been the fastest growing segments within containers and the growth has been at 18% CAGR for us in the last three years. We supply the products to all the customers in home care, personal care, pharma and lube oil segments, among others,” says Sanjay Kapote, chief executive officer of Manjushree Technopack. HDPE is usually used in extrusion blow molding technology products while PP is used for extrusion blow molding, injection molding (caps and closures) and now for some applications in injection stretch blow molding as well. HDPE is a popular and versatile plastic because of its unique properties right from heavy-duty, damp-proof bottles like milk cartons to flexible plastic films.
