Ahmedabad-based Akshar Digital has witnessed fast growth ever since the purchase of its first Kodak Flexcel NX system to make high-quality flexographic plates. The company is currently on an expansion phase and looks to invest close to Rs. 5 crore in acquiring new technologies.

“The western region of India is seeing very fast growth in the number of flexo presses being installed. As the footprint of flexo technology expands, the demand for flexo plates too is growing. To cater to this demand, we need to increase our plate-making capacity,” said Nikunj Malvania of Akshar NX Digital during the Labelexpo India 2018 show. Malvania also shared his plans to invest in a Kodak Flexcel NX wide system with a maximum plate size of 42 x 60 inches. According to him, the larger size facilitates efficient job planning and enables print production efficiencies. His other investment plans include opting for another flexo digital imagersystem from either Esko or Xeikon in early 2019. Apart from this, the company will also invest in a processor, dryer, light finisher and DuPont plates.

Numex Blocks buys second Kodak Flexcel NX System

Numex Blocks based in Mumbai announced its purchase of the Kodak Flexcel NX system at Labelexpo India 2018. The company confirmed its purchase on the second day of the show. Following the purchase of this new system, the company looks to supply to a wider base of printers and convertors across the country. Sandor Meszaros, regional sales leader at Kodak’s Flexographic Packaging Division for the Asia Pacific Region (APR) said, “Numex Blocks is amongst the largest flexo prepress trade shops in the region. As a key player in one of the fastest growing flexo markets of the world, their investment in their second Kodak Flexcel NX equipment is testament to the trust they have in Kodak Flexcel NX to grow their business sustainably. We are extremely happy to expand our business partnership with Numex Blocks.” The wide Flexcel NX 5080 allows users to maximize plate making productivity and minimize waste.
