Zenith Rollers is a manufacturer of rollers for the printing and paper industry, with more than 20 manufacturing facilities across India. The four decade-old company has a production capacity of nearly 3,000 rollers in a day. Zenith participated in the recently held Pamex 2020 mainly to gain exposure. During the show, Zenith promoted its entire range of products for the printing and packaging industries. “We received decent footfall over the entire course of the show. We’re pretty satisfied to walk away from this platform with significant leads. We also managed to convert more than five deals at Pamex 2020. There
are a lot of prospects who we met at the show and we are optimistic of turning them into real deals shortly,” says Musaib Ahmad Ansari, area sales manager of Zenith Rollers.
Ansari says that the company’s rollers are used in rotogravure and CI flexo presses. “Although there is a significant boom in the packaging industry, the same cannot be said for commercial printing, which seems to have become stagnant. With new products coming into the market, there is a greater need for packaging. In fact, packaging is an important tool for branding purposes,” adds Ansari. Every month, Zenith supplies close to 10,000 rollers to its customers spread across the country. “We’re solid, particularly in India. We have more than 50% market capitalization in the country. There are some local players in every state but Zenith is almost everywhere in India. Our main competition is from some of the German manufacturers, who are also pretty well placed in the Indian market. But the differentiating aspect is that their turnaround times are higher as compared to ours. We are usually able to respond pretty quickly. We try not to take more than a week,” Ansari says. “We not only supply rollers to the market but also have a special focus on servicing our customers. Offering post-sales services helps us retain a lot of customers in the longer run. It gives us an upper hand on our competitors.”
Ansari adds that Zenith is quantitatively the biggest company in the Indian market. “We also give more importance to pricing. India is a very price-sensitive market, and one must pay utmost attention to it. We understand it better than anyone else and hence we can grow I would urge all the companies to believe in Indian products. Though we rubberize the rollers locally, the rubber compound import is from Germany,” he concludes.
