Duralabel Graphics adds Bobst M4
With an annual average growth rate of over 30%, Vasai-based Duralabel Graphics has had a great run in the past few years. The 8-color Mark Andy 2200 press that the company was employing since 2011 was not sufficient to meet the increasing workload. It was time to enhance the print capacity. In early 2016, Ravi Patnaik, owner of Duralabel decided to invest in a Bobst M4 8-color flexo press. The press was supplied by Reifenhauser India and was installed in April.
Bobst M6 mid-web inline UV flexo press demo at Labelexpo Americas
Bobst will present an advanced range of technology and process solutions in printing and converting for the global label industry at Labelexpo Americas in Rosemont, ILL, USA, from 13 to 15 September 2016. Star of the show on Bobst’s stand will be the digital flexo process which will be demonstrated on the Bobst M6 mid-web inline UV flexo press. The advantages of digital flexo, which is part of Bobst Digital Automation programme, are unique in making the press operation fast, flexible and reliable, allied with a consistently superior quality of the output and the lowest total cost of ownership.
Open House at Bobst India’s Pune plant
In the last few years there has been a clear trend of commercial printers diversifying into the world of packaging printing. Many have taken the plunge as they were not able to sustain growth in their traditional business while some have made the move to add further meat to their successful commercial printing operations. With robust growth projections being made for the Indian packaging industry, more and more commercial printers are getting attracted to the packaging printing space. A gathering of such commercial printers took place at Bobst India’s Pune plant on 22 April. ‘Packaging for Sustainable Growth’ was the slogan for the Open House, which was attended by about 20 printing companies from around the country with most of them being commercial printers or book printers.
India’s ‘love affair’ with Bobst gravure printing presses
Last year the Indian flexible industry invested in eight printing lines from Bobst’s range of gravure solutions, including 4003, 5002 and 888 model presses. These machines join a total of 70 existing Bobst gravure presses with more than 500 printing units previously installed for flexible materials already installed in the country.

KBA Rapida 7-color press with a battery of Bobsts spices up the East
Nextgen Printers, based in Kolkata, is a rising packaging converter. In 2008 it decided to bring packaging solutions to the Eastern part of the country equipped with experience and expertise from its sister concern, Avail Printers, based in Kolkata. Nexgen’s first packaging unit was set up in the year 2010 in the hills of Majhitar, near Rangpo in East Sikkim. Already ISO 9001:2008 certified, the Sikkim plant is a supplier to major pharmaceutical companies, the local liquor industry, state cooperative and other local manufacturers. Nextgen’s plant in Rangpo has been extremely successful – it is busy 24x7 every day of the year.
