It is an accepted fact that in India there is a severe lack of awareness, both among the consumers and a majority of companies involved in food as well as food packing business, about safety standards and regulations. However, in recent years the situation has improved, especially after a controversy surfaced two years ago involving a major multinational FMCG firm and its highly popular brand of instant noodles. Nevertheless, a large section of our population continues to remain exposed to subpar food standards. Adhesives solutions provider Henkel Adhesives has been extremely active in educating stakeholders, especially in non-metro cities, about food safety issues such as migration and food regulation.

The annual European Label Forum (ELF) will be held in Berlin, Germany this year from 7-9 June and will bring together a broad spectrum of industry participants, from raw material suppliers to end users, to debate current major strategic business topics and gain in-depth wide-spectrum market knowledge from the formal speaker agenda.

The recently launched industry body for members of the label industry, Association of Label Printers and Suppliers (ALPS), held a get together on 4 March in New Delhi, which was attended by 148 people and more than 80 printing firms, suppliers, media and supporting organizations.

Further the user can straight away ask for specification sheet, samples or order through the app.

Aurangabad-based PGI Technologies has plans to showcase its new product line at this year’s Labelexpo India. The company, which manufactures tooling and equipment for the narrow web label printing industry, will launch its 3-color flexo press with 330 mm web width. The press features two diecutting stations, a turn bar and hot air drying. Factory trials have reached a top speed of 90 m/min.
