In a unique event organized by IPPStar, a leading packaging and print advisory services firm, stakeholders such as the Swedish paper packaging solutions provider Billerudkorsnas, the WWF (World Wildlife Fund), BNHS (Bombay Natural History Society), packaging designer and environmentalist Deepak Manchanda, Vatavaran, the National Council of Cement and Building Materials as well as brand owners and packaging converters deliberated on novel and sustainable packaging solutions in the Indian context. The main objective of the roundtable was to discuss the viability of unique and novel paper packaging solutions that minimize the use of plastics in and reduce littering as well as waste for landfills.

The Innovation Stage at Pack Expo International and Pharma Expo 2016 to be held from 6 to 9 November at McCormick Place in Chicago is shaping up to be the largest and most robust on-floor education feature since its inception in 2012, according to show producer PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.

The upcoming International Packaging Conclave 2016 in Delhi proposes a new but absolutely critical narrative aimed at ironing out certain structural flaws in the way the printing and packaging industry perceives its priorities in India. More efficient color management with higher automation and sharper output, is gradually taking over from the antiquated processes that relied on very highly skilled manual operators which is replete with risks.

Zipper bags or zip-lock bags is an innovative concept of reclosabilaty and reusability,” says Viral Shah, general manager of SVP. At PackPlus, the company displayed its range of zipper products including double flange zipper, single flange zipper, powder proof zipper, dual lock zipper and many more. 

Parksons Packaging, one of India’s largest monocarton printers and converters, ordered two of the latest generation Speedmaster CX 102 presses at drupa 2016. The company has developed a strong partnership with Heidelberg since its establishment in 1996, and has installed numerous Heidelberg presses over the years. “Two years ago we were looking around for a press capable of producing the increasingly short runs in packaging printing quickly and economically, and decided on the Speedmaster CX 102 after a long search,” explains Ramesh Kejriwal, founder and chairman of Parksons Packaging. “It exceeded our expectations, and we ended up installing two more CX 102 presses.”
