PackPlus, the annual trade show on packaging, processing and supply chain organized by Print-Packaging (P) Ltd., will be staged at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 3 to 6 August 2017.

PackPlus, which will be held from 3-6 August 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, will see 375 companies spread across six halls over an area of 16,000 square meters. The event is expected to receive more than 20,000 visitors.

Started in 1994, Mumbai-based Condot Systems provides products and solutions for marking and batch coding, variable data printing, transport systems and vision systems. The company meets the demands of printing, packaging, pharmaceuticals, dairy and FMCG segments. At PackPlus 2016, held in July 2016 in Delhi, the company displayed products from the USA-based company Matthews Marking Systems. Condot collaborated with Matthews Marking in April 2016 to represent its products in India. “Matthews Marking is a 125-year-old company and is the leader in coding, marking and inkjet applications in the US,” says Vijay Kamat, GM marketing of Condot Systems. At PackPlus, Condot displayed drop-on-demand valve inkjet printers and high-resolution piezo electric printers from Mathews apart from various track-and-trace systems.

At PackPlus 2016, Kody Equipment displayed its servo-driven slitter-rewinder Nuzen S737. This model was launched at K 2013 in Germany. According to Jashvant Panchal of Kody Equipment, the S737 received a good response at the K show at that time. Panchal says, “We have installed more than fifty Nuzen S737 slitter-rewinders across India since its launch in 2013. The USP of the machine is the Lay on Roller with linear motion movement.” The Lay on Roller is a part of an assembly which comprises rubber roller, cork roller and arms. The assembly can be easily moved on a linear motion guide and the widths of the rollers can be changed easily during the working.

Speaking about the demand for CI flexo presses in India, Ajay Tandon, president and CEO of Uflex engineering and new product development, says that CI flexo demand is picking up. Uflex recently shook hands with an Italian company to manufacture gear and gear-less CI flexo presses under a technology transfer agreement at Uflex’s engineering plant in Noida. Ajay Tandon says, “In Asia gravure printing is predominant, so the concentration of machines is gravure. In Europe it is 50% gravure and 50% CI flexo. In the US, it is 80% CI flexo and just about 20% gravure. In India, flexo is picking up quite fast since the last three to four years. Since flexo is picking up, we thought it to be the right time to get into flexo press manufacturing. Today, since the quality of CI flexo is very close to gravure, we see a very good potential for CI flexo machines.”
