With its new AWX series of winders, Hosokawa Alpine is expanding its portfolio to include a particularly flexible solution for blown film production. Because of its modular design, the series can be precisely tailored to individual customer requirements, thereby offering maximum design freedom when configuring production lines, the company said in a press release.
As a leading supplier of machinery and systems for film extrusion, Hosokawa Alpine develops innovative technologies that help customers worldwide to make their production processes efficient, cost-effective and future-proof.
Tailor-made solutions for every application
The new AWX series has been consistently designed with flexibility in mind. “Thanks to the modular concept, we can tailor the winder precisely to different applications and production requirements. This provides investment security and enables a cost-effective plant design throughout the entire life cycle,” says Michael Heinecker, senior vice president of blown film extrusion at Hosokawa Alpine.
Customers can select precisely the functions and performance features required for their application. This enables them to benefit from an optimally tailored system configuration.
With film widths ranging from 1,000 to 3,200 mm, the AWX series covers a wide range of applications. Production speeds of up to 150 m/min are possible as standard and can be increased as required.
Extensive options for individual process requirements
In addition to a comprehensive range of standard features, AWX winders offer numerous additional options for demanding winding processes. These include, among others, gap and reverse-winding modes, as well as automatic detection of the winding shaft and core diameter. These functions facilitate ease of operation and enhance process reliability in day-to-day production.
Furthermore, various width-stretching roller concepts and comprehensive temperature control solutions, including cooling rollers and temperature control units, are available. This allows the AWX series to be precisely tailored to a wide variety of materials, process requirements and quality objectives.
With this new winder series, Hosokawa Alpine underlines its commitment to offering customers bespoke solutions for efficient flexible and future-proof film production.
