The Oben Group, a global leader in high-quality packaging films headquartered in Lima, Peru in Latin America and with plants in both Americas, Africa and Europe has ordered the first 94,000 TPA BOPP line for its new production facility in Monterrey, Mexico. This follows its acquisition of KristaFilms production facility and brand portfolio from Grupo Aguso in July 2023. The new Monterrey plant will feature the world’s most advanced BOPP film production line, setting new industry benchmarks in output, speed, and winding diameter – to be supplied by Brückner – as a announced in a press release this month.

When the possibility of a 94,000 MTA line was announced at an exhibition in Dusseldorf, we wondered who would be its first customer. As one of Brückner’s earliest and largest customers, Oben Group has maintained a strong partnership with the company. Oben Group’s president, Jamil Zaidan, emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to growth and innovation, “This new milestone reflects our dedication to pushing the boundaries of efficiency and productivity. Our partnership with Brückner has been instrumental in achieving these advancements, and we look forward to further strengthening our leadership in the-packaging industry worldwide.”

Markus Gschwandtner, managing director of Brückner Maschinenbau, expressed his appreciation for this collaboration, “I am particularly pleased that our long-term partnership has resulted in the world’s first 12-meter BOPP line. It highlights our close relationship of over 30 years and, for now, is the icing on the cake.”

With more than 17 manufacturing plants across the Americas and Europe, Oben Group is one of the world’s largest film producers with a diverse and unique portfolio including BOPP, BOPE, BOPET, BOPA, PET-Shrink, CPP, CPE, CPA, and cast films. It also produces films with added functionality using Al / AlOx metallization and by single/double-side water-based coating processes serving a wide range of industries. Its high-performance films play a crucial role in flexible packaging.
