The Cyrel Fast Easy EFXR is the first thermally processable plate certified for the Esko Quartz workflow

Label and packaging converters visiting this year’s Loupe Americas will be among the first to get a close-up look at the award-winning Cyrel ReNew plate family when DuPont Cyrel showcases the latest advancements in sustainable and high-performance flexographic platemaking.

Taking center stage at the DuPont Cyrel booth (#327), ReNew is the company’s newest innovation in sustainable flexographic printing. DuPont Cyrel ReNew plates offer a lower carbon footprint – they are made using a photopolymer containing more than 50% certified bio-circular raw materials originating from renewable natural sources, and supported by ISCC PLUS-certified traceability through a mass balance approach.

Recently recognized with a Sustainability Award at the FTA Forum Infoflex 2026, attendees at Loupe from 15-17 September will have the opportunity to discover how it can support their sustainability goals without compromising print performance. The plate series has also been named a finalist for this year’s Sustainability Award at the Labels & Labeling Global Awards, with winners announced during a special ceremony on the opening day of Loupe Americas.

“Across the labels and packaging value chain, sustainability expectations continue to increase, and printers are looking for solutions that deliver measurable environmental benefits without disrupting production,” said PJ Fronczkiewicz, North America Technical Marketing & Service Leader with DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions. “Cyrel ReNew was developed to meet that challenge, providing a practical path toward a significant reduction in reliance on virgin resources while maintaining the performance our customers depend on every day.

“This not only reduces reliance on fossil-based resources but also contributes to a meaningful reduction in the carbon footprint for customers, distinguishing Cyrel ReNew as a leader in sustainability with an unmatched percentage of renewable content in the market,” said PJ. “Designed as a true drop-in solution, Cyrel ReNew enables printers and converters to reduce reliance on fossil-based raw materials while maintaining the quality, consistency, and productivity expected from DuPont Cyrel technologies.”

In addition to discussions around Cyrel ReNew, visitors to the DuPont booth at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Chicago, will be able to explore how the company’s broader portfolio supports operational efficiency, quality, and sustainability objectives in flexo. Underlining the power of integrated flexo workflow systems, the booth will also feature the Esko CDI Quartz plate imager, which enables printers and converters to achieve new standards in flexographic print quality.

The Quartz ecosystem features a groundbreaking dual optics system that merges the enhanced optics of the CDI Crystal with the most recent Quartz Optics technology, which when combined with the DuPont Cyrel Fast system creates one of the highest quality plates that excel in high print output and press stability. Three Cyrel plates – Cyrel Easy ESXR, Cyrel Easy EPR2 and Cyrel Fast Easy EFXR – have recently been certified for the Esko Quartz workflow, validating the performance of the plates within the advanced Esko Quartz imaging workflow.

“The certification of Cyrel Fast Easy EFXR is particularly significant as it is the first thermally processable plate certified for the Esko Quartz workflow,” said PJ. “This allows converters and tradeshops to combine the precision and repeatability of Quartz imaging with the operational and environmental benefits of thermal platemaking.

“The DuPont Cyrel Fast system is helping label converters raise the bar on print quality while accelerating turnaround,” said PJ. “Combining innovative flexo plate technology with solvent-free thermal processing, the Fast workflow develops plates in minutes using heat instead of traditional washout chemistry, delivering sharp highlight dots, clean vignettes, and smooth tonal transitions with consistent plate-to-plate repeatability. The result is the vivid image reproduction, crisp text, and fine linework that define a premium label, giving converters the speed and consistency to win demanding, high-mix work while delivering the print quality customers expect to see on the shelf.”

The Fsat system helps printers reduce processing time, eliminate solvent handling, and support more sustainable production practices. Contributing to lower waste generation and reduced energy consumption compared with conventional solvent-based workflows, the FAST workflow was recently certified as delivering 20% less energy consumption by GreenCircle. Building on the foundation of LSH ReNew, Cyrel plans to extend the ReNew platform to thermal-processed plates, further increasing the availability of lower-carbon solutions within flexographic printing.

“Whether focused on sustainability, productivity, print quality, or all three, we are looking forward to discussing how the latest Cyrel innovations can help businesses achieve their objectives,” added PJ. “Loupe provides an excellent opportunity for meaningful conversations with printers, converters, trade shops, and brand owners who are shaping the future of packaging.”

Visitors are encouraged to visit PJ and the North America team of DuPont Cyrel specialists at booth #327 to discuss current challenges, future requirements, and opportunities to improve sustainability and performance across their flexographic operations.
