Xeikon the diversified Belgian global player with multiple printing technology solutions is making new moves in the Indian market by expanding its footprint in India through its various channel partners. Xeikon produces digital webfed color digital presses for labels and carton packaging applications besides document printing and commercial printing. Apart from this Xeikon produces plate makers for newspaper offset printing and basysPrint computer-to-plate (CtP) solutions for the commercial printing market. In the flexo printing segment it has digital platemaking operations under the ThermoFlexX brand that provides high resolution plate exposure including screening, color management, as well as workflow
management.
Xeikon has tied up with Sapphire Graphics of Gurgaon for the document printing segment that will include the Xeikon 8000 series digital color press. These are LED array based digital drum and toner presses with 1200 x 3600 dpiresolution and 4-bit per spot color depth. The high speed presses have a maximum of 512 mm media width and can print on both sides of the substrate (40 gsm to 350 gsm) simultaneously at speeds up to 63 feet a minute and can handle monthly duty cycles of up to 10 million pages. The 8000 Series presses consist of the 8500 entry level press, the 8600 production printer and the 8800 high speed high volume production printer in the Xeikon’s Document Production Suite, a fully integrated solution for the production of direct marketing material of virtually any size or format,ready for mailing or short-run high quality transactional printing.
Sapphire will also offer Xeikon’s Wall Decoration Suite that offers high quality digital printing solutions for wall decorations for commercial, retail and residential purposes. This will address the needs of both wide format wall paper printing with options for designing and printing smallrolls of finished wallpaperfrom a large roll of paper. The Xeikon document printing and wall decoration suite was previously being handled by Monotech in India. Monotech however will continue to handle the Xeikon plate makers forthe offset industry and the basys PrintCtP solutions forthe commercial printing market, while Malhotra Graphics will continue to handle the ThermoFlexX brand name of Xeikon’s platemaking systems for the flexographic market.
