Designed for manufacturers in the food, beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods sectors, the Gx-Series PRO combines exceptional print performance with operational flexibility, helping businesses stay ahead of changing industry standards while preparing their packaging operations for the future.

Domino India has announced the launch of the Gx-Series PRO, a next-generation thermal inkjet printhead designed to help Indian manufacturers prepare for the industry’s transition to GS1 Sunrise standards and the growing adoption of 2D barcodes, including QR Codes and Data Matrix codes, across retail and supply chains.

As packaging requirements evolve worldwide, manufacturers are increasingly looking for coding solutions that support enhanced traceability, regulatory compliance, consumer engagement, and digital supply chain connectivity.

The Gx-Series PRO has been engineered to meet these emerging needs by delivering high-quality, GS1-compliant 2D codes at production-line speeds without compromising operational efficiency.

Designed for manufacturers in the food, beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods sectors, the Gx-Series PRO combines exceptional print performance with operational flexibility, helping businesses stay ahead of changing industry standards while preparing their packaging operations for the future.

Unlike conventional coding systems, the Gx-Series PRO delivers larger print areas, superior print contrast, and reliable code grading across both porous and non-porous substrates. With print resolutions of up to 1200 dpi and print speeds of up to 390 metres per minute, the solution enables manufacturers to produce high-quality variable data codes at scale. Support for up to four stitched printheads further expands printing capabilities, allowing larger print heights and greater coding flexibility across production lines.

The Gx-Series PRO is also engineered to perform reliably in demanding manufacturing environments. An optional printhead heater supports operation in chilled production areas, while Domino’s food-packaging compliant inks, manufactured in accordance with EuPIA Good Manufacturing Practices, make the solution particularly well suited for food and beverage applications.

“The packaging industry is undergoing a significant transformation as manufacturers prepare for the next generation of product identification and digital connectivity,” said Tanuj Agrawal, managing director, Domino Printech India. “At Domino, we are committed to bringing globally advanced technologies to our customers, enabling them to stay ahead of changing industry standards while improving operational efficiency, compliance, and long-term business growth. The launch of the Gx-Series PRO reinforces our commitment to supporting manufacturers with future-ready coding and marking solutions.”

The increasing adoption of 2D codes is creating new opportunities for brands to improve traceability, strengthen supply chain visibility, support digital deposit return schemes, and enhance consumer interactions through connected packaging experiences.

“As 2D codes become increasingly important for product traceability, supply chain visibility, and consumer engagement, manufacturers need coding solutions that can consistently deliver high-quality results at scale,” said Sachin Mall, assistant vice president – products, applications & solutions, Domino Printech India.

“With its high-resolution printing capabilities, scalable printhead configurations, and dependable performance across a broad range of substrates, the Gx-Series PRO enables manufacturers to confidently meet evolving GS1 requirements while maintaining consistent code quality in demanding production environments.”

The Gx-Series PRO is fully compatible with Domino’s Gx150i, Gx350i, and GxOEM platforms, enabling manufacturers to seamlessly upgrade existing installations while benefiting from larger print heights and multiple print positions managed through a single controller.

As Indian manufacturers prepare for the future of packaging, product identification, and digital traceability, the Gx-Series PRO delivers a scalable and future-ready solution to support the industry’s transition to GS1-compliant 2D coding.
