At PackPlus 2015 held from 1 to 4 April 2015 in Bengaluru, it was another opportunity for packaging suppliers and manufacturers to assemble and network with the visitors and buyers. IMA Pharma is a world leader in the design and manufacture of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. The company has three divisions – IMA Active, IMA Life and IMA Pharma. In packaging, they produce blister packing, carton, tube filling, end-of-the-line and counting machines with the ability to offer tailor-made solutions to satisfy the market requirements.

Pramod Nikumbh, deputy general manager, sales, IMA SAFE, introduced PGB 250A stretch banding machine along with shrink tunnel for bundling the cartons. The PGB 250 Abundling machine is specifically designed for effective bundling and wrapping and can be equipped with a high speed stacking unit capable of taking 400 cartons a minute. The balcony type construction of the PGB 250A allows for maximum accessibility easing maintenance and cleaning operations. The expansion type reel holder adds the comfort to quick film changeover and is small in size. Nikumbh also said, “We wanted to have our presence in Bengaluru and so we participated at PackPlus South. We are based in Mumbai with two set-ups in Mumbai and Indore. We cater mostly to pharma companies as well as to non-pharma companies such as coffee, beverage, cosmetics and toiletries.”

Italian-based IMA Pharma is known for constant research in the filed of development of innovative solutions and has a good manufacturing set-up following European standards to meet the export business guidelines. “Since Bengaluru is a big pharma hub, we did the publicity for our product at the PackPlus South exhibition. Most of our customers have visited us and we are generating a new customer base even in the non-pharma sector. Thus, we look forward to sell our products to them. We have also received a few client enquiries, so after clearing the technical requirements we can hope for the best.”
