At Automation Expo 2016 held from 22 to 25 August at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, B&R displayed its integrated end-to-end automation solutions for various manufacturers spread across the globe. Speaking to Packaging South Asia, Shyam Padwal, marketing executive at B&R technology, said, “At Automation Expo 2016, we have demonstrated many promising technologies such as OPC Unified Architecture—a vendor-independent communication protocol for industrial automation applications. It allows seamless communication from the individual sensors and actuators up to the ERP system or the cloud. It is an ideal tool for Industry 4.0 and internet of things.”
APROL is the main product highlighted during the trade show. It is a sophisticated tool to unify the process, factory and infrastructure automation and provides unique scaling possibilities that can be deployed in various applications ranging from small automation systems to large-scale factories. Thus, it offers a viable solution in the area of process efficiency and energy conservation.
The other B&R solutions displayed at the trade show were Secure Remote Maintenance that allows any technician to retrieve logbook entries and application data from the machine located anywhere in the world; System Diagnostic Manager tool that allows diagnostics from any location (intranet or internet) using any web browser; Mapp software technology; and HTML web technology that empowers automation engineers to create powerful and intuitive HMI. During the four-day trade show, B&R received good feedback from visitors. Its demo unit resembling plant control room equipped with APROL, attracted visitors.
