Low-tack versions are now available for the NewV pack premium, NewV set LED, NewV pack MGA, and NewV poly MGA ink series.

In response to evolving requirements in press rooms, hubergroup Print Solutions is expanding its UV offset portfolio by introducing low-tack versions of its proven UV offset ink range, NewV. While the existing high-tack series have demonstrated outstanding performance, particularly in the premium segment, the new low-tack variants enable optimal print results even with fluctuating paper qualities and at high printing speeds.

Low-tack versions are now available for the ink series NewV pack premium, NewV set LED, NewV pack MGA, and NewV poly MGA.

Meeting changing print requirements

Due to increasing variations in paper qualities and higher printing speeds, hubergroup has recently observed a growing demand for low-tack series. Lisa-Marie Spring, product manager SF/UV at hubergroup, explains, “The term tack refers to the stickiness of a printing ink. While high tack offers advantages such as improved ink transfer and dot gain, it can also cause so-called picking on sensitive papers or uncoated board – damage to the paper surface during the printing process. Low-tack inks are specifically designed to counteract this effect.”

Consistent performance and greater process stability

As a consequence, hubergroup developed low-tack versions of its NewV series. They offer the same rheological properties as the standard series, while delivering clear process advantages for printers dealing with fluctuating paper qualities. They reduce paper tear-out, ensure more uniform ink separation, minimize emulsion disruption, and lower the risk of delamination on multi-layer substrates – even when paper quality varies or printing speeds are very high. The result is increased overall process stability and consistently high print quality.

“With the new low-tack versions of our NewV series, we provide our customers with reliable solutions that support a smooth and efficient printing process in line with today’s requirements,” summarizes Lisa-Marie Spring.
