On 15 September 2015, UBM India, in association with ACG Worldwide, organized a seminar at Le Meridien, New Delhi for packaging professionals. The seminar, Global Innovative Packaging Applications, was preceded by eminent speakers from Europe who provided valuable insights on packaging solutions, and the august gathering at the
seminar got a first-hand experience of the latest trends and innovations in the packaging industry. The speakers, Angel Martinez of Aranow Packaging, Marin Orriols of Posimat and Fidel Mengibar of Antonio Mengibar, also discussed various case studies and cost effective solutions for innovative packaging applications.

Martinez of Aranow Packaging gave a brief introduction about the flexible packaging industry and shared with the audience his experience about sachets and stick packs. While giving a lecture on how sachets and stick packs can be more convenient over other forms of packaging, Martinez explained and showed to the audience various cost-effective solutions from Aranow for producing such packets. “India is one of our targets because of its growing economy,” says Martinez. “One of the important points for us is customer satisfaction, so our customer service is spread across the geography and in India we
are helped by ACG Worldwide.”

Another interesting presentation of the evening was that by Orriols of Posimat, Spain. Orriols talked about the challenges and solutions for handling empty plastic bottles. He discussed various processes for empty plastic bottle handling that included unscramblers,
air conveyors, silos, box dumpers and much more. “The packaging industry is changing quite rapidly and witnessing a constant evolution. Today, the industry demands solutions that are innovative, reliable and of top quality. There are challenges to meet and opportunities to explore,” says Orriols.

At the seminar, Fidel Mengibar of Antonio Mengibar discussed various innovations and trends in liquid filling and capping applications. Mengibar shared his experiences in the filling industry pertaining to the challenges that customers usually face across cosmetics, foods, personal care, healthcare, lubricants, car care and beverages
