Recently, Mumbai-based Brilliant Polymers, one of India’s leading suppliers of laminating adhesives for flexible packaging, won the Top 100 Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Award. Brilliant was hand-picked from 41,832 nominations that were filed by SMEs from all over the country. The Top 100 SMEs award was presented by the Indian SME Forum (ISF) with sponsorship from Axis Bank in the national capital on 6 May 2017

Vim DishwashBrilliant Polymer was selected by a 16-member jury at a meeting that took place on 25 April 2017 in Mumbai. The jury member included Prahlad Kakar, advertising and branding guru; Sunil Alagh, former managing director and chief executive officer of Britannia; Ajay Sehgal, senior vice president of Vodafone India, among others. The awards ceremony was attended by investors, business experts, entrepreneurs and top bureaucrats discussing the key aspects required to build successful brands and enterprises through best practices.

Gaurav Talwar, managing director, Brilliant Polymers said, “Brilliant Polymers was evaluated on both financial and non-financial indicators. It is a great honor.” The financial indicators for evaluation comprised growth performance (growth and profit in sales) and financial strength while the non-financial indicators included innovation (products, trademarks and brand), international outlook (international marketing, revenue and profit), human capital (work environment) and corporate governance (certification, awards and recognition).

Eminent speakers at the event included Kalraj Mishra, minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME); Surendra Nath Tripathi, additional secretary and development commissioner at Ministry of MSME; and Shikha Sharma, managing director and chief executive officer, Axis Bank, who shared their thoughts on developing India into a strong base for brands and enterprises. The India SME Forum was established in May 2011. The event was designed to nurture entrepreneurship and address their concerns to develop globally competitive SMEs in India.
