DKSH has signed a strategic agreement with Creative Edge Software to promote, sell and service its 3D visualization software in key Asian markets. This partnership is in line with the strategic focus of DKSH Business Unit Technology to solidify its position as a leading integrated solutions provider for the packaging, printing, and converting market.

Creative Edge Software, a leading manufacturer of 3D software solutions for the packaging industry, is headquartered in Minneapolis, USA. DKSH will provide sales, marketing, and after-sales services in selected markets across Asia, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

Creative Edge Software’s product iC3D is the first real-time all-in-one package design software that lets customers generate live 3D virtual mock-ups on the fly. Whether for cartons, glass, cans, flexibles, or shrink-wraps, iC3D enables real-time visualization and validation throughout the design process from concept to production. No specialist programs, hardware, or outside assistance are required during the process. Just a single application using a simple Illustrator file or PDF can generate photorealistic results. iC3D enhances and speeds up ideation, design, and production for the packaging, labeling & graphics markets.

DKSH will help promote the products to end-users, including brand owners of consumer package goods, design agencies, packaging and label printers, pre-press trade services, converters, and contract packers.

“DKSH has unique regional coverage, in-depth knowledge, and strong sales and marketing capabilities. We are convinced that DKSH is the right partner to help us expand our coverage and meet our aggressive growth goals,” said Mark Hardaker, vice president, Sales, Creative Edge Software.

Suhas Kulkarni, general manager, Business Development Asia Pacific, Printing, Packaging & Converting, commented, “Due to eCommerce growth, the business of packaging mock-ups in Asia has been expanding rapidly. The partnership with Creative Edge Software allows us to connect with the packaging buyers besides the pre-press designers and packaging converters. We are confident of growing the market with the Creative Edge Software and excited to introduce this leading solution to our customers in Asia.”

Listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, DKSH operates in 36 markets with 32,450 specialists, generating net sales of CHF 10.7 billion in 2020. Its Business Unit Technology, with around 1,540 specialists, generated net sales of CHF 382.5 million in 2020.

The impact, resilience, and growth of responsible packaging in a wide region are daily chronicled by Packaging South Asia.

A multi-channel B2B publication and digital platform such as Packaging South always aware of the prospect of new beginnings and renewal. Its 16-year-old print monthly, based in New Delhi, India has demonstrated its commitment to progress and growth. The Indian and Asian packaging industries have shown resilience in the face of ongoing challenges over the past three years.

As we present our publishing plan for 2023, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2023 will reach 6.3%. Packaging industry growth has exceeded GDP growth even when allowing for inflation in the past three years.

The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India increased by 33% over the past three years. With orders in place, we expect another 33% capacity addition from 2023 to 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels have grown similarly. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.

Even given the disruptions of supply chains, raw material prices, and the challenge of responsible and sustainable packaging, packaging in all its creative forms and purposes has significant headroom to grow in India and Asia. Our context and coverage engulf the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and further – to waste collection and recycling. We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, and recyclers.

In an admittedly fragmented and textured terrain, this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing support communication – in our impactful and highly targeted business platform.
