An exceptional brand campaign was just launched by Amarula, the South African producer of cream liqueur. A special edition of 400,000 bottles is now released with labels individualized by HP Indigo digital print and HP SmartStream Mosaic variable design technology. Each bottle features a unique elephant icon and name representing the same remaining number of the endangered African species.
In addition to Amcor and Amarula, recent installations of the HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press at converters worldwide include:
- The Beucke Group and Südpack, both based in Germany, each chose the HP Indigo 20000 press as their first Indigo digital solution.
- Germany-based Rolf Kindler Label Service installed the HP Indigo 20000 to expand into digital flexible packaging and large sized labels, and to offer higher productivity in digital label printing.
- O. Kleiner, a Swiss flexible packaging converter, installed its second HP Indigo 20000.
- Enplater, a leading Spanish converter, installed a second HP Indigo 20000 press to expand its digital offering to the Spanish food packaging sector.
- Siti Tea, of Morocco, installed the press for its in-house, premium tea packaging production.
- Alphacolor of Brazil has also chosen the HP Indigo 20000.
Pack ready lamination solution for flexible packaging
HP announced commercial availability of its Indigo Pack Ready Lamination, allowing immediate time-to-market for flexible packaging. A pioneering technology, Pack Ready Lamination creates high-quality, high-performance laminates for HP Indigo digitally printed flexible packaging without the use of adhesives. Various commercial samples created by users of HP Indigo Pack Ready Lamination and HP Indigo Pack Ready Coating are on display at the HP stand at interpack.
HP Indigo Pack Ready Lamination is designed for HP Indigo flexible packaging digital printing on the HP Indigo 20000, 8000 and WS6800 digital presses. It provides strong laminate bond strength with zero curing time for immediate pouch converting. HP’s Pack Ready Lamination was first previewed at drupa 2016 as a proof-of-concept design, and fast-tracked into a fully developed commercial solution based on positive partner feedback and demand.
“Pack Ready is the next step in the HP digital disruption of printing for flexible packaging, the fastest-growing packaging sector,” said Alon Bar-Shany, HP Indigo general manager, HP Inc. “We are proud to make this solution available to HP Indigo customers to help them maximize the value of HP digital print, drive brand engagement, shorten time to market, and cut waste and costs.”
Continued customer adoption of HP digital printing solutions
Leading brands worldwide continue adoption of HP’s solutions for product campaigns, as well as new tools. HP is also offering a simple-to-use tool for brand managers to calculate the ROI of various HP digitally printed packaging (labels, shrink sleeves, corrugated, folding carton and flexible packaging) compared to current conventionally printed packaging costs.
To facilitate the shift to HP digital printing, today HP announced two new tools—the HP Agency and Designer Tool Kit and HP Brand Managers Digital Packaging Return on Investment Calculator. The HP Agency and Designer Tool Kit offers open source training materials, enabling creatives to leverage HP’s advanced digital printing technologies. The package will be available this summer.
