Prof. Kirtiraj K Gaikwad, head and associate professor, department of paper and packaging technology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, has been conferred the Best Packaging Technology Innovation Award 2026 in recognition of his exceptional contributions to sustainable packaging technologies, food safety, biodegradable materials, and environmental sustainability.Â
The award was presented by Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, former union minister of education, government of India, and former chief minister of Uttarakhand, during the Shiksha Sanman Ratna Award 2026 ceremony held in Dehradun on 30 May 2026.Â
