The MK1060 YM, manufactured by Heidelberg’s joint venture partner MK Masterwork Machinery, China, is designed to handle large-format diecutting and foil-stamping requirements with longitudinal and transversal foil pull systems. An advanced vacuum feed table can substantially enhance sheet feeding stability, while electronic controls help reduce operator workload and make the feeder unit user-friendly. A quick return on investment, the equipment can handle substrates with thickness ranging from 90 gsm to 2000 gsm.
“We hope the MK1060 will meet our performance expectations. The fact that Heidelberg has an extensive service network in India also helps,” adds Kanoria. Lalitkumar Lamba, product manager for Heidelberg, postpress packaging solutions, states, “The stamping section of the MK1060 comes with a foil advance system consisting of 4 advance shafts, which ensure that the foil unwinds with an error tolerance of 1 mm, resulting in foil savings. The foil wind unit is capable of maintaining stable foil tension at high speed. The honeycomb chase is made of special thermal-resistant materials. The heated bed consists of 20 heating zones which gives accurate heating properties on complicated foil stamping jobs.”
The Kanoria family, in addition to promoting TCPL, has diverse business interests including jute, tea, textiles, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. In 1990, the family ventured into manufacture of folding cartons from a facility in Silvassa. TCPL has also made a foray into the flexible packaging segment to supply cork-tipping paper, laminates, sleeves and wrap-around labels, as reinforcement to its traditional product lineup that includes folding cartons, printed blanks and outers, litho-lamination, plastic cartons, blister packs and shelf-ready packaging.
