On 15 January 2026, Changsu, the world’s largest BOPA film manufacturer, held a grand opening ceremony for its Indonesian production base known as PT Changsu. The event was attended by over 200 distinguished guests from around the world. Located in the Suryacipta Industrial Park, West Java, Indonesia, the PT Changsu factory represents the group’s first overseas factory and a major investment with an annual production capacity of 90,000 tons and will become the largest BOPA film production base in Southeast Asia once fully operational.

On the occasion of the Indonesian plant opening, with more than 200 guests attending, Changsu Group Chairman Yang said, “The launch of PT Changsu is an important step in our global expansion. Looking ahead, we plan to scale our production in key regions such as Europe and North America. By fully integrating our products, brand, manufacturing, and R&D on a global level, we aim to become a leading force in international industrial competition and collaboration.”
The first BOPA film line has been supplied by Brückner. Vern Zheng, general manager of Xiamen Changsu said, “This is the first BOPA line we have successfully implemented at our Indonesian site – and more will follow in cooperation with Brückner.” While Changsu and Brückner are longstanding partners, this implementation of a joint project outside China is a first.
BOPA film is a critical material in industries like new energy, food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, offering an exceptional combination of tensile strength, high barrier performance, and easy-tear features.
The company states, “With the launch of our PT Changsu facility, we are now building a resilient, localized supply chain in Southeast Asia. This investment significantly shortens delivery times for customers across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, allowing us to respond to market needs with greater speed and agility.”
Beyond BOPA film, Changsu offers high-performance bio-based, compostable BOPLA films, providing customers with a broad portfolio of sustainable solutions. Moving forward, Changsu plans to continue to advance its core strategy of ‘Multi-Matrix, Cutting-Edge Innovation, and Global Expansion.’
The company says it is ramping up the expansion of its global manufacturing footprint while significantly boosting R&D investments to create high-value-added products powered by proprietary technologies. Changsu provides global partners with distinct solutions to gain a leadership position in innovation and in the growth of the new materials industry.
Based in Xiamen, China, Changsu was founded in 2009 and is a leading technology-based film materials company integrating R&D and intelligent manufacturing. Its film manufacturing production bases in China and Indonesia have a combined footprint of about 450,000 square meters. It was the first Chinese company to become a member of the UN FAO Save Food initiative. The company focuses on sustainable and functional films related to human health and safety, including new energy films, bio-based biodegradable films, and functional BOPA films, with production and sales ranking among the top globally.
