XSYS, a global supplier of integrated solutions for the flexographic and letterpress printing industry, has announced the publication of its first comprehensive Sustainability Report, demonstrating how sustainability is being embedded into the company’s core business strategy.

The report highlights how XSYS is transforming sustainability from a compliance topic into a driver of innovation, operational excellence and customer value, supporting both environmental progress and business performance across the flexographic printing value chain.

Built around the company’s sustainability vision, “Advancing Sustainable Print,” the report is based on the belief that sustainability and business performance should reinforce one another. To turn this vision into action, XSYS focuses on three strategic priorities: Innovate: Designing for Impact, Operate: Reducing Environmental Impact, and Empower: Empowering Our People.

The report also provides a comprehensive view of the expanded XSYS organization following the integration of MacDermid Graphics Solutions, bringing the businesses together under a shared sustainability framework.

A key focus area is the development of technologies that help customers improve both environmental and business performance. These include lower-impact and bio-based plate technologies, advanced imaging solutions, automation, and more resource-efficient plate processing.

Through longer-lasting plates, reduced waste and more efficient workflows, XSYS aims to help printers and converters reduce resource consumption while improving productivity.
To increase transparency, XSYS developed Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) reports for nine flexographic plate products representing half of plate revenue in 2025, providing customers with greater visibility into the climate impact associated with their purchases.

Within its own operations, XSYS continues to focus on energy and climate impact reduction, waste minimization, responsible chemical management and resource efficiency, while investments in safety, talent development and a culture of ownership support the company’s ambition to build a resilient, high-performing organization.

Aligned with recognized sustainability reporting frameworks, including IFRS/ISSB and SASB, the report combines independent assurance for selected performance data with a transparent assessment of both achievements and areas for further improvement.

“At XSYS, we view sustainability as a practical business lever. It shapes how we develop products, run our sites, manage waste and circularity, and prepare the organization for the future,” said Alexander Unterschütz, CEO of XSYS. “Our goal is to create solutions that help customers improve both their environmental performance and their business performance. Sustainability is increasingly becoming part of how competitive advantage is created throughout the value chain.”

The 2025 Sustainability Report gives customers, partners and other stakeholders a broader picture of XSYS today, including its global operations, technology and innovation capabilities, people, governance and strategic priorities.
