Kolding, Denmark 28 August 2020 – Responding to customer inquiries, Tresu has come up with a new short-run coater, an advanced and improved version of its inline coaters. The upgraded version, which modular and upgradeable, is called the Tresu iCoat II. It is optimized for coating applications in short-run digital print jobs requiring fast job changes and capable of speeds up to 6,000 sheets an hour while accommodating paper sizes up to B2 (approximately 20 x 30-inches).

The Tresu iCoat II features the industry’s fastest job change with a 30-second sleeve change, a proof tray for on-the-run proofing, and recipe storage recalling complex job details at the push of a button. With the new Tresu iCoat II platform’s unique modularity, machine configurations matching any individual customer need are now available. Any configuration can be changed later and more modules added to accommodate any possible future change in brand owners’ printing operations, or changes arising from short-run seasonal fluctuations or fashion cycles. The earlier Tresu double coater has already been installed at Parksons Packaging plant in Daman in line with its HP digital press.

Customers only buy what they need – no more, no less

The modular stand-alone Tresu iCoat II targets a broad span of configurations – from a combi coater with a dual varnish system and separate WB and UV circuits for general folding carton applications, to an efficient twin-coater configuration with more advanced single-pass finishing operations for high-end cartons. For pharmaceutical packaging applications, an inspection conveyor module can be added, delivering traceability and inspection of individually marked units.

Ronni Nielsen, VP Tresu Solutions Division, comments, “We have significantly boosted the Tresu iCoat II to a new level and this modular stand-alone version. Converters can now match digital printing requirements for fast job changes and switch to a new task with great flexibility.”

Any Tresu iCoat II configuration is based on its proven flexo technology with its genuine Tresu doctor chamber blade and varnish supply technology.

The impact, resilience, and growth of responsible packaging in a wide region are daily chronicled by Packaging South Asia.

A multi-channel B2B publication and digital platform such as Packaging South Asia is always aware of the prospect of new beginnings and renewal. Its 16-year-old print monthly, based in New Delhi, India has demonstrated its commitment to progress and growth. The Indian and Asian packaging industries have shown resilience in the face of ongoing challenges over the past three years.

As we present our publishing plan for 2023, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2023 will reach 6.3%. Packaging industry growth has exceeded GDP growth even when allowing for inflation in the past three years.

The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India increased by 33% over the past three years. With orders in place, we expect another 33% capacity addition from 2023 to 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels have grown similarly. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.

Even given the disruptions of supply chains, raw material prices, and the challenge of responsible and sustainable packaging, packaging in all its creative forms and purposes has significant headroom to grow in India and Asia. Our context and coverage engulf the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and further – to waste collection and recycling. We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, and recyclers.

In an admittedly fragmented and textured terrain, this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing support communication – in our impactful and highly targeted business platform.
