IMA Hassia_S600 - stick packs for processed cheese

The market for stick packs continues to grow and is a convenient packaging solution for a large variety of products. They are extremely easy for consumers to handle and manufacturers benefit from lower material costs.

Compared to conventional packaging solutions like triangle packages, squares, blocks or tubs for processed cheese, they can reduce a manufacturer’s packaging material requirements by up to 50% – the carbon footprint is greatly improved and the impact on the environment is reduced. In addition, the stick packs can be packed in decorative boxes and presented accordingly in the supermarket.

These are the reasons why Saudi Arabian’s Wardat al Mashreq Food Company has chosen this consumer-friendly packaging. On the machine processed cheese and cream products will be filled in 25 and 50 ml stick packs. The machine is equipped with 6 lanes and will produce 14.400 – 18.000 stick packs/h.

The flat foil is fed into the machine and cutters then notch the foil in strips through to the seal layer. The packaging is subsequently formed into single stick packs using a special forming shoulder and then sealed on three sides. Lastly the stick packs are filled with processed cheese, using dosing equipment specific to the product. The customer was looking for a paper touch for stick packs in combination with food safety, and a shelf life request up to 12 months

The practical stick packs are an ideal solution for offices, hotels, cafés, fast-food chains, trains and buses as well as on-the-go.
