Aptar Closures presented its latest generation of sports beverage closures at drinktec 2025 in Munich, introducing three new solutions – NexTE, Rocket, and Balance. The closures have been developed to address industry requirements for tamper-evident functionality, ease of use, and improved sustainability.

The designs are aligned with Europe’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Single-Use Plastics (SUP) directive, supporting brand compliance while maintaining performance for consumers.

NexTE 29.25 Sport Closure
The NexTE Sport Closure features an integrated tamper-evident latching system with a non-detachable band that flexes back for easier opening. It is designed for one-handed use, provides visible assurance of safety, and is compatible with both ambient and dry aseptic filling.

Rocket GME 30.40 Sport Closure
Rocket is a three-piece premium closure with a wide opening supported by hinge technology that prevents spring-back. It incorporates a non-removable tamper-evident band, is fully tethered, and meets SUP requirements. Optimized for recyclability, it also supports the transition to lighter GME 30.40 neck finishes, reducing bottle weight. Rocket is available with a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) valve, with additional neck finish developments in progress.

Balance GME 30.40 Sport Closure
Balance is a lightweight, mono-material polypropylene closure designed for recyclability and ease of use. It enables lighter neck finishes, offers one-handed operation, and includes a tamper-evidence system that provides visual, tactile, and audible feedback. The active hinge ensures the lid remains out of the way during drinking. Balance is also available with a TPE valve.

In addition to these sports beverage closures, Aptar displayed closure systems for carbonated drinks, water, wine and spirits, juices, dairy products, and cartons.
