Esko and Enfocus have confirmed that they will jointly exhibit their innovations at this year’s virtual.drupa event. This will enable customers worldwide to gain insight into the companies’ latest portfolios of hardware and software innovations.

Virtual.drupa will provide the perfect forum for us to showcase our next-generation technology developments for the packaging industry. Through several webinars, videos and presentations, we will be sharing our latest software releases and launching our new ‘Cloud Freedom’ strategy,” said Wim Fransen, vice president of global marketing and software product management at Esko.

Fransen said that moving from onsite server-based software applications to cloud-hosted service as a subscription (‘SaaS’) software model sees many benefits for the two company’s packaging, labels, and wide format prepress and converter customers alike. “We will be sharing examples of Esko software solutions that now have both models available and providing insight to the advantages of utilizing the Esko cloud,” he said.

Collaboration with Asahi

“Notably, virtual.drupa will also be the platform where we will unveil the results of our collaboration with Asahi Photoproducts, which was announced last year. The companies have been working together on the development of a new automated flexo platemaking solution, and April 21st sees both companies come together to reveal the breakthrough technology in a live webinar,” he said.

For Esko brand customers, the team will be delivering a webinar talking to 2021 packaging trends and the need for a more efficient future, presented by Stephen Kaufman, vice president of business development and strategy, packaging, and color. Discussing the significant impact of eCommerce today and the accelerating need for effective 3D and connective technologies, Esko will share insight on how brands can deftly adapt to new and emerging consumer trends through investment in the right packaging software technology.

Enfocus BoardingPass

“It’s an exciting time for Enfocus and drupa is always a superb opportunity to connect with our customers, old and new. This year we will be unveiling the benefits of BoardingPass, our new software solution which empowers customer-facing staff to quickly inspect incoming PDF files for showstopping issues in print,” Tomas Van Rossom, general manager of Enfocus, commented.

“In addition, we will be showcasing Switch, the print automation rebel movement, that delivers an open workflow automation platform, removing the constraints on print professionals who don’t want to adapt to all-in-one, vendor-specific, workflow solutions. On top of these launches, we’re demonstrating PitStop Server as an entry-level automation solution. By adding our software version updates for PitStop Pro, PitStop Server, Switch and Connect 2021, it’s clear we’ll have a great Enfocus line up to show at virtual.drupa!”

Virtual.drupa from 20-23 April 2021 will provide visitors with opportunities to watch videos and presentations and join subject matter experts on live and recorded webinars.

The impact, resilience, and growth of responsible packaging in a wide region are daily chronicled by Packaging South Asia.

A multi-channel B2B publication and digital platform such as Packaging South Asia is always aware of the prospect of new beginnings and renewal. Its 16-year-old print monthly, based in New Delhi, India has demonstrated its commitment to progress and growth. The Indian and Asian packaging industries have shown resilience in the face of ongoing challenges over the past three years.

As we present our publishing plan for 2023, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2023 will reach 6.3%. Packaging industry growth has exceeded GDP growth even when allowing for inflation in the past three years.

The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India increased by 33% over the past three years. With orders in place, we expect another 33% capacity addition from 2023 to 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels have grown similarly. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.

Even given the disruptions of supply chains, raw material prices, and the challenge of responsible and sustainable packaging, packaging in all its creative forms and purposes has significant headroom to grow in India and Asia. Our context and coverage engulf the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and further – to waste collection and recycling. We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, and recyclers.

In an admittedly fragmented and textured terrain, this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing support communication – in our impactful and highly targeted business platform.
