Mumbai-based Welbound demonstrated two of its very popular technologies at Pamex 2015. On display was its hot selling WB2000 which is a multi-clamp perfect binder with six book clamps along with PUReBind Standard which is a compact PUR perfect binder with automatic setup. “The WB2000 is a time tested product of ours and also one of our biggest sellers. It still remains very popular after all these years. At Pamex 2015 too it has been a crowd puller,” P. Sajith, marketing director of Welbound said with a hint of satisfaction.

Ahmedabad-based Art-O-Print installed the AVT Workflow Link together with an AVT inspection platform for labels which was supplied by Reifenhauser India in November 2015. Earlier, in September the packaging solutions specialist installed a Gallus ECS 340 narrow web flexo press to service the label printing segment of the market.

A busy investment year for Mumbai-based carton specialist

The year 2015 was busy for Mumbai’s Paramount Art Prints as the company made few outstanding investments in hardware. Paramount which has its facility in the industrial suburb of Bhiwandi bought a Bobst Expertfold with the Accubraille attachment. It also invested in an Autoprint Checkmate 50 carton inspection system.

Established in 2001, Bengaluru-based Nice Prints produces leaflets, lock bottom cartons and sheetfed labels to pharmaceutical industries including Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and many other companies. The plant is located at Mysore with a built-up area of 32,000 square feet. In May 2014, Nice Prints installed a Bobst Visionfold 80 folder-gluer and Novacut 106 diecutter machines.

Open House at Clear Lam Packaging in the US

Bobst presented guest converting companies with a programme dedicated to advanced laminating technology on 20 and 21 October 2015 in a real production environment at its customer Clear Lam Packaging in Elk Grove Village, near Chicago, in the United States. The programme included live laminating demonstrations of a Bobst CL1000D laminator as well as seminars relating the latest updates in the field of adhesive formulations and technologies.

Set up sales and services organization in Turkey

The Bobst Group is expanding its distribution capabilities by establishing its own sales and services organization in Turkey. Turkey is a growing market in which Bobst wants to strengthen its footprint to serve its customers well with the broadest portfolio of machines in the industry. Expansion into new countries and geographies is consistent with Bobst’s plan to continually broaden its sales and services capabilities with the objective of achieving extended geographic presence. With this new subsidiary Bobst Group will be present in 24 countries through own subsidiaries.

Talks about Novacut 106 ER diecutter

Bobst India used the platform of Pamex 2015 to talk about it two recently launched products. There were no demonstrations at the stand but information about the products was disseminated via video. Bobst promoted its Novacut 106 ER diecutter and LILA-II folder-gluer. Both these technologies were presented earlier this year at Competence ’15, which was held at Bobst’s Pune facility. LILA-II folder- gluer was premiered at Competence’15.

Short set-up time and advance technical features

In the first half of September, Ostermöller Verpackungen based in Bünde, Germany, commissioned the world’s first Visioncut 106 LER. Bobst had previously presented this new, 3B-format flat-bed diecutter at the Competence 15 open house held at its headquarters in Switzerland in June 2015. It showcased the in-line separation and 8000 sheets in an hour production speed of the new press. Alongside the Visioncut 106 LER’s short set-up times and innovative technical features, it was the presence of the automatic separation capability at a competitive cost that won over Olaf Ostermöller, owner and managing director of the packaging company.
