Nepal’s Birat Scanning Installs CRON HDI 4260 Flexo CtP with Monoflex Processing Line

Birat Scanning at Biratnagar in Nepal, a leading Nepalese pre-press bureau, has procured a brand new Cron HDI 4260 flexo CtP with Monoflex processing line Monotech Systems. The new pre-press system is a perfect all-in-one combo combining Cron’s high-precision external drum laser ablation mechanism with in-line wash, dry, and light-finishing process.

A longstanding client of Monotech Systems, Birat Scanning is a sister concern of First Gravure, a known name in the printing & packaging industry of Nepal. When launched in 2003, First Gravure hit the headlines for being the first manufacturer of rotogravure printing cylinders in Nepal. Its high-quality rotogravure printing cylinders gained instant market demand. First Gravure’s success in manufacturing rotogravure printing cylinders marked many new developments in the Himalayan nation’s printing & packaging industry, such as curbing of import dependency, faster product delivery, customisation options, job opportunities, and a big contribution to the growth of the industry.

Deepak Gautam, director, and Pramod Kumar Gautam, proprietor, Birat Scanning, recall, “In 2003, we landed in the industry with the launch of First Gravure by offering high-quality rotogravure printing cylinders ever manufactured in Nepal. After a gap of 5 years, we launched Birat Scanning as a pre-press bureau providing the finest range of flexo CtP plates. Cron HDI 4260 flexo CtP, now running efficiently at Birat Scanning’s production setup, is commendable for its majestic maximum plate size capacity. Integrated with the Cron flexo CtP system, the Monoflex processing line automates the manufacturing, exposure, and processing of photopolymer printing plates.

One of the salient features of the Cron HDI 4260 flexo CtP is its capacity to cater to a maximum plate size of 42×60 inches. Bridging the gap between mid-format packaging plate and wide-format corrugated box printing plate, this Cron system is adjustable for resolution options starting from 2400dpi up to 9600dpi. It operates at production speeds of 2.5 square meters per hour to 8.0 square meters per hour. The new Cron flexo CtP at Birat Scanning is designed for multi-plate compatibility. It is compatible with digital flexo plates, polyester-backed or metal-backed letterpress plates, thermal offset plates, and ablative films.

Further, the Monoflex processing line is seamlessly unified with Cron HDI 4260 flexo CtP to eliminate the process of treating imaging and chemical or thermal processing as separate manual steps. It subsequently maximises throughput and ensures consistent plate quality. This line removes unexposed polymer using an inline solvent, water-wash or thermal development mechanism to bring out the relief print design. Its automated mechanical transport prevents damage such as scratches on plates, kinks or improper handling between the imaging and washing phases.

Now that we are powered by the Cron HDI 4260 flexo CtP with Monoflex processing line, it has built up our confidence to provide what exactly our clients want in terms of plate quality and on-time deliveries on strictest deadlines within 24 hours,” informs Deepak Gautam. Backed by a team of 200 skilled and experienced staff members, Birat Scanning serves a long list of clients dotted across all major cities and suburbs of Nepal, viz. Kathmandu, Pokhara, Belbari, Nagarkot, to mention a few.

Deepak conclusively conveys, “In addition to the machines, it has been grateful to be partnered with Monotech Systems, whose dedicated after-sales service support team would always be by our side whenever required, irrespective of distance, time, or circumstance.”
