Gujarat-based flexible packaging company Pouchwale is sharpening its focus on India’s growing startup ecosystem with short-run packaging solutions designed for emerging brands seeking premium-quality pouches without committing to large order volumes.
Speaking at the CMPL Expo 2026 in Mumbai, a company official said the firm has adopted hybrid LED printing technology for its flexible packaging operations, combining advantages associated with flexographic printing while aiming to address common color consistency challenges faced by smaller brands.
According to the company, many startups and regional businesses struggle with high minimum order quantities, long lead times and additional development costs typically associated with conventional packaging production. The official said its model is built around eliminating those barriers for small and medium-sized brands.
The company, part of a 34-year-old business entity with roots in food-related packaging applications, said it has increasingly shifted its attention towards pouches and short-run flexible packaging. Its current portfolio includes pouches, shrink sleeves, labels and roll-form flexible packaging.
The official said demand for smaller production quantities is rising rapidly among startups, particularly in markets such as Gujarat and Rajasthan, where newer consumer brands are looking for packaging that matches the quality standards of larger FMCG companies without requiring high-volume commitments.
The official said startups are increasingly seeking customized packaging with faster turnaround times while remaining sensitive to development expenses and inventory costs. Pouchwale believes short-run production will become a more significant segment as India’s startup and direct-to-consumer sectors continue to expand.
Promotional material displayed at the exhibition highlighted the company’s emphasis on low minimum order quantities, quick delivery schedules and the absence of separate development charges for customers.
CMPL Expo 2026, held at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, brought together packaging converters, label manufacturers, printing technology providers and flexible packaging companies from across India.
